The Blue Hour

Maybe peace is a place we've been searching for all along.

A simple ritual

Light. Read. Breathe.

  1. I

    Light

Light the candle and let the room settle. Set your phone somewhere else for a while.

  2. II

    Read

Read the story card slowly. Let yourself drift somewhere you've never been.

  3. III

    Breathe

Breathe with the flame. Notice how the room feels now, and how you feel in it.

A little game

Which place is calling you?

Made by hand, with love

Hi, I'm Tania.

Lovelore began with love, the deepest kind I know: the love I have for my daughter, Jaylene. She's the quiet thread through everything I make. Jaylene loved the color green, the color of things that keep growing. I like to think Lovelore is a little like that.

The soap came later. I have sensitive skin, and one day in the store I turned a bar of soap over and actually read the label. I couldn't pronounce half of it. I put it back on the shelf and thought, what if I just made my own?

I didn't jump in right away. For about six months I watched every soap-making video I could find. I took notes, compared recipes, and probably knew more about lye and oils than anyone should before making a single bar.

When I finally made my first batch, it was a goat's milk soap. To my surprise, it actually turned out well. My son was so excited, more for me than for the soap, I think. He could see I'd found a new adventure. That's the moment I knew I wasn't going to stop.

Not every batch goes the way I hope. One afternoon my sister came to visit, and we decided to film me making soap. We spent so long on the setting, the background, the lighting, every little detail, that I measured wrong. I didn't add enough lye to the oils.

We finished filming, stepped into the kitchen for a bit, and when I came back to check on the mold, there was a layer of oil sitting on top. The soap hadn't set. It was a disaster, and honestly, it made me sad.

But it taught me something I still carry into every batch: soap doesn't care how beautiful the lighting is. It needs your full attention. Now, when I make soap, the camera can wait. It's just me, the recipe, and the care each bar deserves.

After that, I wanted to try everything. The more complicated the recipe, the better. But the more I made, the more I kept coming back to simple: a few good ingredients, made with care. Sometimes the simplest things are the ones that last.

The candles came the same way: store-bought ones sometimes gave me headaches, and I wanted something I could light at the end of a long day and simply breathe.

Today everything I make still starts at home, in small batches, with ingredients I can name and trust. And a little of what I love goes into every piece: the ocean I keep going back to, the gold of a Florida sunset, and the moon I look up at every night, thinking of the people I love.

Lovelore is love for this life, for the people who hold us, and for who we're becoming. Every piece is made with the same care I'd give my own family, because once it's in your home, you're part of the story too.

From the journal

The small things

Little notes on the moments that turn out to matter most.

The moon

Under the same moon

Every night, I look for the moon. Some nights it's a thin silver curve, some nights it's full and bright over the water. Either way, it's the same moon the people I love are looking up at, near or far.

The shells

Why the edges are gold

On Florida's west coast, there's a moment just before the sun slips into the sea when everything turns gold. I finish every oyster shell in gold leaf so a little of that moment comes home with you.

The soap

Reading the label

Lovelore's soap began with a simple habit: turning a bar over and reading what's inside. Today I make every bar with simple ingredients I can name and trust.

Good to know

Care & shipping

Caring for your candle

On the first light, let the wax melt all the way to the edges, usually two to three hours, so it burns evenly every time after. Trim the wick to about ¼ inch before each burn, burn for no more than four hours at a time, and keep it away from drafts, children and pets. Never leave a burning candle unattended.

Caring for your oyster shell dish

Each shell is hand-finished and sealed, but it's still a little piece of the sea. Wipe it gently with a soft, dry cloth. Keep it out of water and the dishwasher, and avoid harsh cleaners so the gold leaf stays bright.

Using your soap

Let your bar rest on a draining soap dish between uses so it stays firm and lasts longer. Handmade soap is softer than store-bought bars, so keep it out of standing water.

Shipping

Oyster shell dishes ship free in the U.S. through our Etsy shop. Every piece is carefully wrapped by hand and packed to arrive safely. Shipping details for candles and soaps will be shared at launch.

Every piece is handmade

Because each piece is made by hand, small variations in shape, color and gold leaf are part of its story. No two are exactly alike.
